The Cambrian Rally has been running for as long as the club. Originally a road rally it soon grew to become a qualifying round of the popular Motoring News Rally Championship. In the 1970’s forest stage rallying was developing and in 1977 the first Cambrian Rally in the forests was held. The event used the Great Orme stage which has become traditional and synonymous with the Cambrian, along with Clocaenog forest. During the 1980’s the event became part of the BTRDA Rally Championship, a status it still holds with pride as the final round of the competitive championship.

The 2007 Cambrian Rally will be run on Saturday 3rd November and sponsored by G-O-N Granite & Marble - regulations, entry forms and lots more information will be published later. For 2007 the event returns to a Llandudno base for scrutineering, signing-on and all formalities. Six stages are currently planned, giving competitors nearly 45 miles in Clocaenog and Penmachno forests. For 2007 it is not planned to use the Great Orme special stage.
